We made it! A 24-hour endurance ride across the Alps in memory of Debbie Baldwin, raising over £50,000 for Ovacome’s health and wellbeing events.

This year we took on what proved to be our toughest challenge yet — riding from Milan to Zurich within 24 hours, crossing the Alps with significant elevation and demanding terrain. Led by our team leader Phil Soderberg, the initiative focused on raising awareness and funding to support individuals and families affected by ovarian cancer.

Despite the physical intensity of the route, we all made it to the finish with only minutes to spare. Challenges like this test not only endurance but also teamwork and determination, and throughout the journey we supported each other to reach the goal together.

We rode in memory of Debbie Baldwin, whose experience continues to inspire our commitment to improving awareness and access to support for those affected by ovarian cancer. The impact of fundraising efforts like this is significant.

“We are so grateful for the dedication and commitment shown through challenges like this. Our members consistently tell us how important it is to meet others who are also living with ovarian cancer, and how our regional events help them feel less alone. These events often lead to lasting friendships and stronger support networks. The funds raised could support multiple in-person Health and Wellbeing events across the UK, helping people access vital information, connect with others facing similar experiences, and receive meaningful support within their local communities.”

I was proud to take part alongside an incredible group of riders: Stuart Lumsden, Simon Glover, Dan Snell, Alistair Bool, and Rob Popham, together with myself, Paul Tuxford.

We remain grateful for the opportunity to support such an important cause. Further information about the charity and its work can be found at (Ovacome).
