As AI began reshaping the construction and engineering sectors, their leadership needed someone who could sit at the table as a genuine technology executive not a vendor with a product to sell.
The Work
Nexus took on the Fractional CIO role. We started with an honest AI Readiness Audit - a full diagnostic across technology infrastructure, data maturity, process workflows, organisational capability and compliance, delivered as a board-level report with a scored maturity model.
From that, we built a 12-month AI and technology roadmap, each initiative tied to a business outcome. We identified the quick wins, launched the pilot projects, ran the AI Leadership Coaching programme, stood up an AI Champions network, led vendor selection and built the governance framework staying in the centre of delivery throughout.
