Fractional Leadership and Project Recovery

When you hit critical inflection points, Nexus Advisory steps in as experienced operators. We prefer to work fractionally, alongside your team, and provide interim cover where a role needs full-time leadership, to stabilise operations, course-correct, and protect value until your permanent team is ready.

What you get

Two areas of focused fractional practice

I. Fractional and Interim Leadership
  • Fractional leadership to add senior capacity in growth, transformation, or system implementation without committing to a full-time hire
  • Executive coverage for leadership transitions (CEO, COO, CIO/CTO and adjacent roles) to maintain momentum and continuity, fractionally or on an interim basis
  • Crisis and change leadership to navigate restructurings, acquisitions, and strategic pivots with clear communication and execution discipline
  • II. Project Initiation and Recovery
  • Project setup for new initiatives, ensuring clear scope, governance, resourcing, and risk management from day one
  • Project recovery for troubled programmes, with rapid diagnosis, stakeholder reset, and an actionable turnaround plan
  • Performance uplift for portfolios and programmes through improved cadence, decision-making, and delivery practices
  • Frequently asked questions

    What is fractional leadership?

Senior leadership embedded part-time, typically one to three days a week for 6–24 months, so an organisation gets senior capability without a full-time hire. Examples include a fractional CIO or CTO, chief of staff to the CEO, or programme lead for a post-merger integration.

What is the difference between fractional and interim?

A fractional leader works part-time alongside your team for 6–24 months. An interim leader steps in full-time for a defined period, typically 3–12 months, to cover a gap or lead a specific change. Nexus Advisory does both but prefers fractional, because it builds capability in your team rather than standing in for it.

Which roles can Nexus Advisory cover?

CIO and CTO roles, programme leadership for integration and transformation, and project recovery for troubled programmes, as well as executive cover for CEO, COO and adjacent roles during leadership transitions.

When does fractional leadership make sense?

When a business needs senior direction during a defined chapter, such as a platform rebuild, an acquisition or a leadership transition, but does not need or cannot yet justify a full-time executive.
